The Account Manager is responsible for assisting the underwriting department with various projects, specifically focused on excess liability underwriting facilities. They will need to quickly learn the insurance systems used by the Company to be successful.

Account Manager – Underwriting Responsibilities:
  • Participate with the underwriter in renewal and new business activities that support underwriting decisions consistent with division or department growth and retention goals.
  • Prepare underwriting/pricing exhibits such as account summaries, loss runs, internet research, and rate sheets.
  • Enter, manage, and manipulate data in various agency management systems and online tools.
  • Partner with the underwriter to gather relevant account information for new and renewal business.
  • Ensure all support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with the team's standards.
  • Provide support within established performance standards.
  • Use various systems to keep account information accurate (EPIC, C1, Encompass).
  • Manage account documentation such as account clearance, acknowledgement letters, underwriting documentation, and closing letters.
  • Submit files to the underwriting queue when ready for full underwrite.
  • Review and sign off on conditions as applicable.
  • Stay current on changing underwriting guidelines and company guidelines.
  • Review initial submissions against a checklist of minimum required submission documents.
  • Participate in projects and assignments as needed. 
Account Manager – Underwriting Responsibilities:
  • 1-2 years of insurance industry experience.
  • 2+ years of office/administrative experience.
  • Attention to detail and a strong level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Judgment and confidentiality.
  • Understanding of insurance concepts and terminology.
