The CNC Programmer will work closely with engineering to develop mechanical prototypes and basic documentation (sketches, lists of materials, etc.) to support the design of new products. Programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications.

CNC Programmer Responsibilities:
  • Develop an environment of continual improvement through the use of Lean tools.
  • Be able to describe the quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.
  • Develop machine programs using MasterCam or similar software tool.
  • Develop programs for punch press machines using Cadman software.
  • Machine parts as directed by design and product development engineers for use as models or prototypes.
  • Assist engineering with mechanical design and layout issues.
  • Design and build tools and fixtures for Production assembly and machining.
  • Assist in the design of test fixtures as directed.
  • Provide additional assistance in the machine shop as required.
  • Other duties as required.

CNC Programmer Requirements:
  • One to three years of mechanical design experience
  • One to three years of machine programming using Cam tools
  • Three or more years of setup and machining experience with mills, lathes, punch press, brake
  • Preferred experience with Altium, Solid Edge, MasterCam, and Cadman software
  • Three or more years of experience with 4 & 5 axis milling.
  • The candidate should be able to complete programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications.
  • Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software.
  • Tests accuracy of settings and programs.
