Testing Laboratory Technician actively participates on teams that deliver technical solutions that significantly impact the residential roofing business. This role contributes to the business’s success by conducting product tests on projects designed to improve the quality and productivity of our roofing operations, as well as driving a forklift and moving materials within an industrial laboratory.

Testing Laboratory Technician Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine shingle testing
  • Preps samples for testing
  • Inputs test results into LIMs data system
  • Documents observations
  • Cleans and maintains equipment
  • Works safely in the laboratory and manufacturing environments
  • Operates a forklift, ensuring safe operations in high traffic areas
  • Good communication and organizational skills for staging material for lab process
  • Full participation in site safety initiatives
  • Safely and consistently completes operational tasks in the Roofing Test Lab.
  • Test deliverables meet Quality Requirements and Standards

Testing Laboratory Technician Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Hands-on aptitude with mechanical equipment
  • Experience driving a forklift in an industrial environment
  • Must be comfortable using a computer. A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or laboratory environment.
  • Attention to details is very important.
  • Able to work in environment that can be hot and dirty.  Endeavors to improve on the cleanliness and organization of the workplace consistently
