The Laboratory Technician will support the Discovery Assay and Screening (DAS) team by performing general laboratory operations and assisting with experimental execution. This role requires maintaining lab facilities and equipment and working with a variety of insect species and plant assays in controlled environments.

Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
  • Perform duties regarding safety practices and procedures.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment in accordance with laboratory standards.
  • Comfortably work with a variety of insect species at various life stages.
  • Assist in plant assays including sampling, culture maintenance, and plant care.
  • Utilize lab instruments to analyze samples and record results with precision and attention to detail.
  • Perform lab duties regarding sterile technique.
  • Conduct standard lab cleaning procedures.

Laboratory Technician Requirements:
  • Associate’s (2-yr) degree required. Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting, with new graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Comfortable working in controlled environments to perform various plant care tasks.
