Laboratory Technician conducts research on a world-class high-throughput Production Genotyping team. The ideal candidate for this position will hold a degree in a scientific field such as biology, microbiology, plant sciences, or similar fields, and will have previous experience in a lab environment, along with an eagerness to learn.

Laboratory Technician Responsibilities: 
  • Operate automated liquid handlers to prepare and dispense DNA and markers for PCR processing.
  • Move large batches of samples through time-sensitive processes to complete daily workload.
  • Follow written instructions, as well as guidance from team members to complete tasks.
  • Communicate clearly within the Array Tape team for troubleshooting and prioritization.
  • Ensure that all material necessary for sampling is prepared properly, on time, and in a safe manner.
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, handling, packaging, and storing seed or samples.
  • Continually look for process improvement opportunities and help implement solutions.
  • Take actions to ensure good laboratory practices are followed.
  • Prioritize workload requirements and exercise good time management to ensure all work is completed on time.
  • Perform physical, repetitive tasks of the job. 

Laboratory Technician Requirements: 
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biological Studies, or related field such as Plant Science or Biotechnology is preferred. 
  • Experience working in a lab environment preferred.
  • Experience working with PCR testing, liquid handlers, and aseptic techniques are preferred. 
  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, practice vast attention to detail, and possess robust organization skills. 
  • This position requires great communication skills and the ability to work with a team as well as individually.
