QA Plant Monitor is responsible for assisting the Quality Control group to conduct plant monitoring testing on cottonseed for quality standards in raw and processed forms.

QA Plant Monitor Primary Responsibilities:
  • Key emphasis will be placed on performing quality checks which may include but not limited to: Truck Sampling, Sample De-Linting, Acid Percentage, Dryer Temperature, Buffer Temperature, Bushel Weights, pH, Cleanout Percentages, Seed Count, Tare Analysis, Seed Appearance, Bag Analysis, Calibration of Scales, and Down Time Coding.  
  • Perform inspections on packaged finished product to verify standards are met.
  • Assist with variety cleanouts.  
  • Enter data on Plant Monitoring Spreadsheet.  
  • Report any deviations of quality parameters.  
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tests for extended time periods following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI). Ability to work near/with other workers on daily basis.  
  • Responsible for maintaining clean work area.  
  • Follow safe work practices. Majority of testing requires standing and walking for periods of time in an industrial and warehouse setting.  
  • Contact with industrial equipment such as Delinter, Dryer, Buffer, Cleaner, Gravity Tables, Seed Tanks, Shakers, Conveyors, Baggers, Scales, Palletizer, Wrapper, Forklifts, Trucks, and Loading Ramp.  
  • Utilization of lab equipment to include: Temperature Probe, pH Meter, Beakers, Distilled Water, Buffers, Scales, Bushel Weight Apparatus, and Seed Counter.  
  • Individuals will work primarily in an industrial/warehouse and or lab environment.  
  • PPE (safety glasses, coveralls, gloves, safety boots, N95 mask and hardhat) is required and provided.  
  • Cross-training with QA Cottonseed Technician laboratory duties as needed.
QA Plant Monitor Qualifications:
  • Past experience in quality control within a manufacturing experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to follow SOP’s and walk/stand for long periods of time.
