The Configuration Technician is responsible for performing the pre-configuration of equipment prior to shipment to customers. The pre-configuration is to be performed in a quality and consistent manner in accordance with documented instructions. Equipment pre-configuration shall also be validated to ensure the proper functioning of the equipment prior to shipment.


Configuration Technician Responsibilities:
  • Follow specific written work instructions to efficiently provision and configure IT devices and otherwise prepare for device deployment based on customer requirements
  • Basic cable management of equipment based on customer requirements
  • Unbox, re-box and process equipment for shipping
  • Clean, test, and inspect IT devices
  • Escalate technical or other issues to your immediate supervisor
  • Participate in internal departmental and project meetings
  • Offer suggestions on improving processes and efficiencies

Configuration Technician Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience or relevant training preferred 
  • Valid Driver's License with less than 6 points on license to adhere to insurance requirements
  • Technical certifications preferred, not required
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., carrying, standing, bending, transporting IT equipment 50% of the time
  • Occasional use of basic tools, cleaning solutions, tear down and rebuild of IT components
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and to sustain positive relationships with team members, management and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities of low complexity
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic required
  • Aptitude to learn various IT disciplines at a basic level
