LIMS Administrator is responsible for providing routine computer system maintenance, monitoring, and administrative tasks for LIMS.   

LIMS Administrator Responsibilities:
  • Supports the managed changes to LIMS by performing system configuration, documenting changes, testing changes, and supporting other LIMS SMEs with similar tasks
  • Support planning and collaboration for future LIMS changes
  • Performs daily maintenance tasks in LIMS; checking error logs, reviewing user account status
  • Maintains static data objects within LIMS following approved procedures
  • Utilizes configuration package workflow for static data management following approved procedures
  • Coordinates static data updates with documentation effective dates with LIMS SMEs
  • Initiates, reviews and implements change controls for LIMS following approved change management procedures
  • Modifies reports using Crystal Reports (and/or other reporting software)
  • Modifies subroutines and other programming structures within LIMS
  • Assists to provide troubleshooting support to interfaced business systems (SAP, Empower, MES) relative to LIMS interfaces
  • Stays current with all role based training requirements
  • Assists in documenting and review of risk-assessment on software and module update options for LIMS application
  • Provides support and troubleshooting for LIMS users
  • Works with IT to keep LIMS operational for 24-7 operation
  • Occasionally acts as point of contact for Labware support calls
  • Continuously improves work processes, productivity, and accuracy of LIMS Administrators
  • Develops (with assistance), conducts, or verifies hardware and software qualifications necessary for LIMS
  • Reviews statistical testing of data to verify validity, determine trends, and initiate corrective actions as appropriate
  • Help lead internal and external creative teams
  • Coordinate with internal clients and other stakeholders of the creative process

LIMS Administrator Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Scientific, or other Engineering discipline and 2-3+ years of experience
    • Combination of education and experience can be considered; no degree and 5-7+ years of experience
  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and/or Legal
  • Significant experience in LIMS administration or similar data management processes
  • Proficient in statistical analysis tool, network architectures, programming tools and processes
  • Experience with Labware LIMS required
  • Experience with SAP (or other ERP systems) and Empower highly preferred
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively
