They will also provide direction for EESS field based personnel related to establishing an electrically safe work condition for equipment to be serviced at customer sites. The position is a critical function across EESS to help drive zero workplace injuries and incidents.
Technical Reviewer Responsibilities
- Help lead the organization to a goal of zero workplace injuries and incidents.
- Provide direct technical input to employees and leaders throughout the division regarding Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) planning and implementation in advance of project commencement for scheduled work, and in real time for work performed on demand.
- Review and approve LOTO plans prepared by others.
Technical Reviewer Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical field service, specifically with end user electrical distribution equipment such as switchgear, motor control centers, transformers and power electronic equipment including work such as preventative maintenance, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and installation.
- Associates Degree or equivalent military experience.
- Strong background in power distribution systems (commercial, industrial, and utility) and equipment.
- Practical experience in power equipment field service work and work planning.
- Strong understanding of LOTO practices and policies, with strong experience in implementing LOTO to establish an electrically safe work condition at complex work sites.
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on active listening to extract key information from others; often via remote means (email, telephone, text), but may require travel and onsite support.
- Arc Flash qualified.
- Familiar with State/Provincial regulations (NFPAOSHACSA).
- The ability to organize and plan for travel to multiple locations, projects and execute deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability in writing safety checklists and complex LOTO procedures.
- OSHA 10 and 30 Hour General Industry or Construction certification or Canadian equivalent.
- Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
- Electrical Contractor’s License, General Contractor License, or Professional Engineering license is preferred.
- Travel to district offices, customer locations that can result in overnight travel up to 25%.
