Pricing Analyst is responsible for providing pricing guidance, data analytics and overall business support to the organization.
Pricing Analyst Responsibilities:
- Lead all data collection and analysis efforts supporting various cross functional teams including contract administrators, contract managers, program managers, and business development team members, and will present information to senior and executive leadership to drive strategic and profitable growth
- Pricing
- Provide standardized reporting and ad hoc analyses to interpret pricing related data, identify critical pricing issues, and periodically provide financial reviews for leadership and others on key pricing, cost, and margin information relevant to defined business objectives and performance standards.
- Gather data from a variety of sources and perform moderate to complex analyses to gain insights into pricing strategies and market trends to understand and expand market share and grow profitability.
- Forecast revenue based on market trends, production costs, profit margins, and sales volumes.
- Apply statistical modeling methods to determine the potential impact of pricing strategies on profitability and market share.
- Ability to collaborate with business development, marketing, and other functional areas to develop and implement competitive pricing strategies.
- Stay informed on current program/product margins, pricing analysis methods, escalation formulas, and applicable economic/financial trends.
- Data & Market Analytics:
- Develop and recommend benchmarking, best practices and competitive analysis techniques.
- Automate and optimize current processes to streamline reporting and data distribution.
- Prepare and present analytical findings to internal working teams, senior and executive leadership.
- Develop dynamic tools to effectively respond to changing market needs and trends.
- Work with leadership in the development of annual operating and pricing plans.
- Design and support data models optimized to support analytical tools and reporting such as PowerBI.
- Willingness to question assumptions, explain analyses and form conclusions.
- Ability to assess accuracy of data based on comparisons to other available sources including historical and current data and/or forecasts.
- Proposal Support:
- Research and analyze historical proposal data (as applicable) to strategically position the business for award/success.
- Research, interpret, and resolve problems involving moderately complex technical data/hardware.
- Provide support to business team in the proposal development process. Compile background and historical data and documentation to assist in the preparation of complex RFP/RFQ responses.
- Track and consider customer feedback to develop effective business strategies in support of new opportunities.
Pricing Analyst Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in, Business Administration, Finance, or related field is required.
- A master’s degree in business administration (management science, data analytics) is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job, typically acquired through five+ years of business experience with analytical and reporting experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Intermediate to advanced math, statistical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with common business data query and reporting tools, such as Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated high level of written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with IFS or other ERP Systems
