Product Engineer Responsibilities
- Develop an environment of continual improvement through the use of Lean tools.
- Establish and implement product design and manufacturing changes for cost reduction and improved product performance.
- Improve product yields of legacy products through redesign and part specification efforts.
- Resolve product performance issues as a result of design or component limitations.
- Work with Test Engineering with the training of operators and technicians on products.
- Revision of project data, including schematic drawings, mechanical sketches, and bills of material.??
- Design circuits, systems or structures as required by the sustaining design project manager.
- Calibration, data collection, and environmental testing of prototypes.
- Technical support and sustaining engineering for manufacturing operations.
- Technical support to purchasing for vendor or parts selection.
- Be able to describe the quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.
- Other responsibilities as determined by the manager.
Product Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- 5+ years of experience with demonstrated technical knowledge of circuits and mechanical aspects of resistive products or instrument design.??
- RF circuit design, troubleshoot and analysis to resolve problems and improve product quality and/functionality.
- Familiarity with electronic manufacturing processes, particularly Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and final assembly test.
- Good troubleshooting and "bench skills."
- Strong knowledge of analysis and problem solving.
- Ability to use modern simulation tools for circuit and field analysis.
- AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience helpful.
