The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing plant sanitation operations to ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations. This role includes supervising a team of 10–20 employees, providing training, guidance, and support to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in line with food manufacturing protocols. The position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance while fostering a productive work environment.

Sanitation Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily tasks of sanitation personnel to ensure completion of duties while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
  • Provide discipline as necessary, adhering to company, union, and regulatory policies.
  • Provide training and recommend advancement opportunities for team members.
  • Assist in conducting performance reviews and addressing employee concerns.
  • Coordinate sanitation team schedules while adhering to company and union guidelines.
  • Monitor attendance and manage time-off requests under the direction of the sanitation manager, ensuring adequate staff coverage.
  • Assist in maintaining and handling personnel medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ensure all sanitation practices comply with company, union, city, state, and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety, and HACCP policies.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to maintain seamless operational efficiency.
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly to the maintenance team.
  • Identify and install or report improperly secured or missing machine guards.
  • Ensure timely reporting of accidents and safety issues in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Sanitation Supervisor Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience in sanitation or food safety preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with Paycor applications preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Some bending, stooping, and ladder climbing is required.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to operate in hot environments, occasionally exceeding 110°F and cold environments, occasionally below 0°F
  • Ability to operate in environments with exposure to flour, oil, and dust
