Manufacturing & Production Manager is responsible for managing all related operational functions for the department included, but are not limited to: direction and performance of the department hourly production workforce, conformance to all regulatory compliance, enforcement of safety, health, environmental, policies & procedures; work rules; cost control; operating procedures; budget preparation; asset utilization & optimization; quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Manufacturing & Production Manager Responsibilities:
- Perform safety inspections and submit hazard recognitions and safety suggestions
- Work closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure continuous improvement
- Involved in all aspects of the end-to-end site production workflow, including receiving material, scanning barcodes, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling and other warehousing work.
- Oversight of plant personal and resources
- Drive and influence on-going culture change of employees to instill personal accountability for adhering to established operating procedures and safety policies and regulations.
- May be responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment in assigned areas and ensuring operations process and procedures are followed.
Manufacturing & Production Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (Practical managerial/leadership experience is a consideration equivalency).
- 7-10 years of automotive or manufacturing industry experience
- Knowledge of State/Federal EPA and OSHA compliance requirements.
- Experience working in a diverse team environment including interactions with technical staff, administrative staff, business team leaders and contract personnel.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing; present complex topics in a concise manner.
- Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages, and customer value.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- 6 Sigma Certifications that include Green Belt or Black Belt
- Essential physical requirements include: ability to climb stairs; lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. May also be required to climb ladders and examine work that may be conducted in high elevations.
