The Mechanical Engineer specializes in prototyping and fabrication. They will be responsible for developing advanced and novel fabrication methods serving a diverse and dynamic project portfolio of applications.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Engineer with expertise in prototyping and fabrication techniques, including the development of advanced and non-standard methods for specialized applications.
- Skilled in hands-on lab work, creative problem-solving, and adapting to fast-paced, dynamic engineering environments.
- Proficient in conducting experimental work, analyzing data, and recommending improvements.
- Experienced in leading fabrication projects involving laminations, coatings, laser ablation, 3D printing, ion milling with SEM analysis, dispensing, CNC milling, and large-format routing.
- Drive prototyping and fabrication initiatives aligned with evolving strategic goals.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and technical specialists on a diverse range of projects, including optical, thermal, and mechanical characterization.
Mechanical Engineer Qualifications:
- B.S. degree is required.
- 1-3 years of post-grad experience working with fabrication/ prototyping equipment is preferred.
- Experience with a diverse range of instruments, spanning chemical, mechanical, thermal characterization, and experience working with basic materials characterization and metrology equipment.
