The Total Rewards Advisor will play a key role within the North America Total Rewards Team, supporting benefits, retirement, disability, and mobility programs for employees and retirees across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. This contractor will ensure the accurate administration of health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, employee inquiries, and compliance activities while maintaining strong vendor relationships and delivering an exceptional employee experience. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented benefits professional with strong analytical and communication skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced HR environment.

Overview:
The Total Rewards Advisor will play a key role within the North America Total Rewards Team, supporting benefits, retirement, disability, and mobility programs for employees and retirees across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. This contractor will ensure the accurate administration of health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, employee inquiries, and compliance activities while maintaining strong vendor relationships and delivering an exceptional employee experience. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented benefits professional with strong analytical and communication skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced HR environment.
Health & Welfare Administration (20%)
- Build and maintain relationships with internal partners and external benefits vendors to ensure accurate plan administration and a positive employee experience.
- Support the development and delivery of benefit education materials to ensure consistent communication across the organization.
- Provide guidance to employees and internal teams on benefit programs, resolving escalated issues and inquiries.
- Manage enrollments, plan changes, and qualifying life events in the HRIS; reconcile benefits files and vendor invoices.
- Monitor eligibility, plan limits, and regulatory requirements to maintain compliance.
- Support ACA compliance, including eligibility determination and 1095-C form activities.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory updates to ensure policies and procedures remain compliant.
- Track and respond to active employee and retiree inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor data integrity between benefits vendors and HRIS systems.
- Support daily administration of U.S. qualified and non-qualified pension plans and 401(k) plans, including payment coordination and FICA tax handling.
- Manage employee and retiree inquiries related to retirement plans, HSAs, FSAs, and stock purchase programs.
- Assist with auditing activities related to disability and leave management.
- Review and analyze payroll interface files to ensure accurate processing.
- Partner with internal and external teams to implement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Assist with HR system maintenance, testing, and upgrades related to benefits or retirement programs.
- Support rollout of new HR initiatives, benefit plan changes, and annual enrollment activities.
- Interpret policies, procedures, and regulations for internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement by proposing enhancements to processes, systems, and documentation.
- Prepare and facilitate monthly and annual compliance reporting.
- Participate in team meetings and perform other duties as needed.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration.
- Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to navigate SPDs and resolve complex inquiries.
- Customer-focused approach with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Workday, SAP, or Kronos.
- Advanced Excel and/or MS Access skills.
- HR certifications such as PHR or SPHR.
- Background in benefits consulting, total rewards, or transformation projects.
- Occasional travel (approximately twice per year, with potential for more based on business needs).
