BIM Manager Overview
The BIM Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards, workflows, and technologies across the organization, supporting scaffolding, shoring, and formwork product systems. This individual will provide technical leadership for BIM processes, support project teams, manage digital design coordination, and ensure consistent model quality. The BIM Manager will have significant autonomy to develop and shape the company’s BIM strategy, standards, and technology initiatives while collaborating with leadership, customers, engineers, contractors, and consultants.

BIM Manager Overview

This individual will provide technical leadership for BIM processes, support project teams, manage digital design coordination, and ensure consistent model quality. The BIM Manager will have significant autonomy to develop and shape the company’s BIM strategy, standards, and technology initiatives while collaborating with leadership, customers, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
BIM Manager Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company BIM standards, templates, workflows, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry BIM standards.
- Lead BIM strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend process enhancements.
- Provide onboarding and ongoing BIM training for staff.
- Mentor designers and engineers on BIM processes and best practices.
- Develop training materials and technical documentation.
- Maintain BIM libraries, templates, and content.
- Establish model naming conventions, file structures, and data standards.
- Coordinate model exchanges with customers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Administer BIM software platforms and related applications.
- Coordinate software licensing, upgrades, and deployments.
- Develop automation tools and workflows where applicable.
- Support project teams during planning and design phases.
- Assist with resolving BIM-related technical issues.
- Create project models and drawings as workload demands require.
- Collaborate with customers, engineers, contractors, and consultants to support project execution.
- Recommend hardware and software solutions to support BIM initiatives.
- Participate in project planning and digital delivery efforts.
Required
- Associate Degree or Certificate in Design and Drafting Technology or a related field.
- 7–s of experience in BIM, design, engineering, or construction.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a BIM leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of design and construction documentation.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong spatial visualization skills and the ability to work with complex 3D models.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and supporting cross-functional teams.
- Ability to occasionally visit construction sites and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience with scaffolding, shoring, and/or formwork systems.
- Experience with Dynamo and/or Revit add-in development.
- Experience developing BIM automation tools, custom workflows, or digital design initiatives.
- Experience supporting digital project delivery and model coordination across multiple stakeholders.
