The Business Systems Analyst will lead new implementations and support ongoing client needs by translating business requirements into technical solutions. This role acts as a key liaison between clients, vendors, and internal technology teams, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations. The analyst also serves as a client advocate, driving successful outcomes through strong communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Business Systems Analyst Responsibilities:
- Analyze and translate data between proprietary and standard file formats; utilize system data to resolve business issues efficiently
- Document and implement functional requirements, technical specifications, and template documentation aligned with client business needs
- Review complex data files, create mapping documents, interpret client requirements, and advise on best practices
- Use SQL databases to analyze inputs and outputs, identifying coding issues and needed system changes
- Communicate the internal product's technical capabilities while understanding client requirements to guide internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as a liaison between teams; submit system enhancements and defects, confirm corrections, and validate development in partnership with the QA team
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, including executives, technical teams, and end-users; lead discussions confidently with decision makers and IT professionals
- Partner with IT and internal teams to develop or enhance client products, including documenting requirements, validating solutions, performing testing, and creating end-user documentation and training
- Identify process improvement opportunities and escalate issues as needed
- Demonstrate the ability to ask insightful questions, create actionable plans, and deliver high-quality projects independently
- Manage implementation of new payment delivery technology when required, including project planning, leading status meetings, and coordinating issue resolution
- Participate in daily internal stand-up meetings related to assigned projects
- Contribute to the Software Development Lifecycle using Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
Business Systems Analyst Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of healthcare experience with providers and/or payers in claims and payment processing
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of SQL databases required; Crystal Reports experience preferred
- Experience with Agile Methodologies such as KANBAN and Scrum preferred
