What You’ll Do:
Responsible for sourcing goods and services to support CPDI operations. Commodities include active electrical components, devices, fabricated products, and other materials as required. This role manages supplier relationships, drives cost-reduction initiatives, and ensures supply chain resiliency.

Essential Functions
  • Drive supplier engagement and performance through scheduled business reviews.
  • Review shortages and Open Order Reports to assess materials demand.
  • Align corporate commodity management goals with CPDI Supply Chain team objectives.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, scheduling, and planning of orders, including emergency spot buys.
  • Perform cost savings analysis, volume planning, and execute cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Develop new sources of supply when current suppliers cannot support service requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on material revisions, changes, and new product releases.
  • Coordinate with division Sr. Buyers to enhance supplier capabilities.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier Accounts Payable issues.
  • Improve supply chain resiliency during component shortages and market challenges.
  • Provide forecasts and purchasing strategies to balance demand with supplier obligations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of purchasing experience.
  • Experience with digital technology and processes.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Remote work eligible (no relocation provided).

Position Criteria:
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/Material Planning Systems (SAP required).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices and purchasing/contracting methods.
  • Ability to train peers and new purchasing staff.
  • Familiarity with component purchasing and supply sources.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPIM or CPM certification.
  • SAP system expertise.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
