We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Buyer to manage and optimize our procurement and production planning functions. The ideal candidate will bring solid manufacturing experience, proficiency in SAP, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure materials are sourced, delivered, and managed accurately and efficiently.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Buyer to manage and optimize our procurement and production planning functions. The ideal candidate will bring solid manufacturing experience, proficiency in SAP, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure materials are sourced, delivered, and managed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management
- Resolve procurement-related issues, including quality, invoicing, inventory discrepancies, and SAP-related transactions
- Perform data analysis on part consumption behaviors and other component characteristics
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with Customer Service, Engineering, Suppliers, and Production teams
- Support manufacturing and operational goals by ensuring timely availability of required parts and materials
- Analyze and maintain MRP health metrics to ensure accuracy and efficiency in material planning
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies where appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing and production planning within a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP proficiency in purchasing and planning functions
- APICS certification (e.g., CPIM)
- Green Belt certification or demonstrated experience with Lean and continuous improvement methods
- Strong negotiation skills and contract management experience
- Experience with quality assurance and reporting accuracy
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations departments
- Understanding of MRP processes and key performance indicators
