CNC Machinist

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC mills, lathes, and machining equipment to produce high-quality precision components. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and experience working in a production or precision machining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and work instructions
- Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain production quality
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to improve quality and efficiency
- Load programs, make edits, and adjust CNC code as needed
- Maintain accurate production documentation and inspection records
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
Qualifications
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements
- Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or similar systems
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and setups
- Ability to use precision measurement equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace, defense, medical device, or precision manufacturing industries
- Experience with CNC programming and G-code editing
- Experience with inspection equipment such as CMM, optical comparators, or vision systems
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and first article inspection processes
- Experience with tight-tolerance machining environments
