A Compounder is responsible for accurately mixing, blending, and producing materials according to specific formulas and safety protocols. This role requires meticulous attention to detail for recording ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Compounder Responsibilities:
- Follow moderately complex directions and work instructions to weigh, measure, and mix raw materials in the proper sequence and at the correct times to produce finished products
- Accurately record all materials, quantities added, and production details on batch records or a similar tracking system. This includes documenting any non-conforming parts or quality issues
- Conduct in-process checks and spot checks of scaled ingredients to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications
- Operate various compounding and blending equipment. Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment and the general work area to maintain a safe and sanitary environment
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and promptly addressing any workplace hazards
- Move materials, which may involve loading and unloading containers or stocking production areas
- High school diploma or GED required
- Tow motor driving experience
- Strong mathematical aptitude, including the ability to do basic math, use fractions, decimals, compute rates, ratios and percentages.
- Ability to read measuring devices, including a tape measure, ruler, caliper, dial indicator, micrometer and scale
- Ability to read and understand specifications
- Manual dexterity and ability to use all hand tools in order to set up and operate extruder
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively
- Fork lift certification preferred
- Basic computer skills preferred
