The Computed Tomography Technologist independently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing proper techniques and the administration of contrast media. The CT Technologist works within their scope of practice to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging while coordinating patient flow and maintaining efficient CT department operations. 

Computed Tomography Technologist Responsibilities: 
• Independently perform CT examinations utilizing proper imaging techniques and protocols. 
• Administer contrast media and medications in accordance with licensure, certification, and departmental policies. 
• Perform venipuncture procedures as required for contrast administration. 
• Coordinate patient flow and daily activities of the CT scanner to ensure efficient operations. 
• Exercise professional judgment to maintain imaging equipment in proper working condition and identify equipment concerns. 
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality care throughout all imaging procedures. 
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. 
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care. 
• Perform procedures in other imaging modalities as needed based on departmental requirements. 
• Participate in on-call coverage and work assigned weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as scheduled. 

Computed Tomography Technologist Qualifications: 

• ARRT CT certification  

• Current OH licensure  

• Current AHA BLS certification  

• Experience performing CT procedures and administering contrast media. 

• Knowledge of CT imaging equipment, patient positioning, and radiation safety practices. 

• Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills. 

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
