The Computed Tomography Technologist independently performs computed tomography examinations in a fast-paced Level I Trauma environment, providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The CT Technologist is responsible for performing advanced CT procedures, administering contrast media, maintaining patient safety, and utilizing proper imaging and post-processing techniques. This role requires experience in acute care, emergency department, and outpatient settings.
Computed Tomography Technologist Responsibilities:
- Independently perform CT examinations for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients across acute care, emergency, and outpatient settings.
- Perform CT imaging of the abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal system with and without contrast.
- Perform advanced imaging studies including vascular CTA, pulmonary embolism studies, aortic imaging, carotid studies, and brain perfusion.
- Prepare and administer contrast media while following established protocols and patient safety guidelines.
- Perform multiplanar reconstruction and advanced 3D post-processing as required.
- Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture as needed for contrast administration.
- Follow radiation safety standards and isolation precautions while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Operate GE CT equipment and utilize PACS for image management and review.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and departmental requirements.
- Perform CT procedures in a high-volume Level I Trauma environment, including trauma-related imaging and emergency studies.
Computed Tomography Technologist Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience.
- Previous experience working in a Level I Trauma Center required.
- ARRT(R) or ARRT(CT) certification required.
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Epic EMR experience required.
- Experience with GE CT equipment and PACS required.
