First Cook – Food Services
Pay Rate:
Full-Time | 8-hour shifts | Rotating weekends
5am - 1:30pm | 10:30am - 7pm - Swing shift to meet department needs
Join our team as a First Cook and play an important role in providing quality meals and exceptional service to patients, guests, and staff. Under the direction of Food Services leadership, this position prepares meals according to established recipes, production schedules, and food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and deliver food items according to recipes and production standards
- Monitor food quality, temperatures, and presentation
- Follow sanitation, safety, and food handling procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including kitchen equipment and service areas
- Assist with meal service and room service operations as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, customers, and team members
- Complete required production sheets, temperature logs, and cleaning assignments
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Ability to read and follow recipes and production instructions
- Basic math skills, including recipe conversions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet time-sensitive demands
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull carts up to 350 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and work in varying temperatures
