As a Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in the product development lifecycle by designing and engineering innovative products or systems. You will leverage your technical expertise to contribute to all phases of development—from concept through production—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, manufacturability, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new products or systems from concept to production.
- Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Perform engineering analyses including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), tolerance analysis, and simulation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure design intent and requirements are met.
- Participate in and lead design reviews; provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Identify and troubleshoot design issues through iterative testing and root cause analysis.
- Ensure all designs adhere to applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in product design, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
- Strong grasp of engineering principles and design fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with engineering analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and compliance regulations.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing technologies.
