The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a new strategic finance leadership role, responsible for establishing and overseeing the FP&A function for the North American subsidiaries. This position provides comprehensive financial support to drive the performance of each business and subsidiary, to ensure financial transparency, and to guarantee informed decision-making. The Director will play a pivotal role in deploying best-in-class FP&A practices across the organization, ensuring alignment with the global standards and strategic objectives. This position also provides comprehensive financial support to the  management team from Mentor, Ohio.

Director of FP&A Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of FP&A processes across North American operations, which includes:
  • Overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Reviewing and analyzing financial results and cash flow performance, monitoring key performance indicators, and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensuring quality production of regular financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior executives and Group headquarters.
  • Mentoring and developing FP&A team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and financial acumen within the organization.
  • Support business case development for investments, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as the finance business partner to the leadership team, proactively supporting growth initiatives and operational excellence, which includes:
  • Providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial actual reporting and analysis to support management in strategic and day-to-day operational decision-making.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Sales and Operations teams to provide finance support for financial performance, major projects and process improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a close relationship and partnership with the Director of Financial Reporting, Treasury and Taxes.

Director of FP&A Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; relevant certification (CFA, CPA) or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant expertise in FP&A roles.
  • Demonstrated leadership in deploying FP&A practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally with international exposure.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities; experience working directly with executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial planning systems; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed, cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
