The Director of Supply Chain will lead supply chain strategy and execution, overseeing procurement, supplier relationships, demand and supply planning, inventory management, materials, and production planning. This individual will optimize material availability, control costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and improve delivery performance to support customer requirements and business growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and senior leadership.

Director of Supply Chain Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives, customer demand, and long-term growth plans.
  • Lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), aligning demand forecasts, material requirements, production capacity, and customer delivery commitments.
  • Oversee procurement, purchasing, and supplier relationships to ensure material availability, competitive costs, quality, and reliable delivery.
  • Manage inventory levels and working capital while minimizing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving materials.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics, assess supply chain risks, and develop contingency plans for material shortages, long-lead components, and supplier disruptions.
  • Ensure effective use of ERP/MRP systems for material planning, purchasing, inventory control, production scheduling, and supply chain reporting.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including supplier delivery, material availability, inventory turns, purchasing costs, schedule attainment, and on-time delivery. Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Finance to support forecasting, new product introductions, engineering changes, sourcing decisions, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling to align manufacturing capacity, resources, and material availability with customer demand.
  • Lead and develop supply chain and related functional managers, establishing performance expectations, accountability, and succession planning.
  • Provide oversight of Quality and Service Center functions, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage supply chain budgets, procurement spending, inventory investment, and capital requirements while identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate supply chain performance, risks, resource needs, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.

Director of Supply Chain Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight or more years of progressive supply chain or operations management experience in manufacturing or a technology-driven environment, including leadership of managers and multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, supplier management, demand and supply planning, inventory control, materials management, and production scheduling.
  • Proven success improving supplier performance, material availability, inventory levels, on-time delivery, and supply chain costs.
  • Experience leading S&OP, demand forecasting, capacity planning, and supply chain risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain performance reporting.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including budget management, cost reduction, working capital, and sourcing analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and applicable regulatory requirements. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 preferred.
  • Experience with Lean and continuous improvement methodologies; Six Sigma preferred.
