EHS Manager

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will play a visible leadership role in strengthening safety culture, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement across Madison and Solon, OH facilities.
Looking for someone who is hands-on, operationally engaged, highly organized, and capable of building trust and credibility across plant, office, and leadership teams alike. EHS Manager will lead environmental, health, and safety programs while partnering closely with operations, production, leadership, maintenance, and office teams to strengthen operational discipline and proactive safety ownership throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & Culture (45%)
• Lead and strengthen safety programs, procedures, and training across both facilities
• Chair and facilitate safety committee meetings
• Conduct and coordinate safety training including DOT, shipping, onboarding, and related compliance training
• Drive proactive safety culture, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
SDS, Label, & Hazard Communication (30%)
• Maintain and manage SDS systems for raw materials and finished goods
• Create and update SDS documentation and chemical labeling as needed
• Coordinate submissions and ensure labeling compliance
• Support hazard communication and chemical handling best practices
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting (20%)
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, environmental, and related regulatory requirements
• Prepare and submit required regulatory reports, permits, registrations, and documentation
• Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits
• Coordinate waste handling, environmental reporting, and related compliance activities
• Monitor evolving regulations and proactively implement necessary changes
Workers Compensation & Risk Management (5%)
• Support workers compensation coordination and claims management
• Coordinate return-to-work and light-duty programs where applicable
• Partner with leadership and HR on incident follow-up and prevention initiatives
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of direct EHS experience within manufacturing or chemical environments
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, hazardous materials, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Experience conducting safety training, audits, investigations, and compliance programs
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
• Ability to translate compliance requirements into practical operational execution
• Experience with SDS authoring, editing, and chemical labeling
Preferred Qualifications
• Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
• Chemical industry experience
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement experience
• Experience leading cross-functional operational initiatives
