Electrical Maintenance Lead Job Summary
The Electrical Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading all electrical maintenance operations at the Plant while ensuring a safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing environment. This role oversees preventive and predictive maintenance programs, drives equipment reliability, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maximize plant performance. The Electrical Maintenance Lead provides technical leadership for electrical systems, including power distribution, PLCs, DCS controls, instrumentation, and high-voltage equipment. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who fosters a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and employee development. This position partners closely with production, maintenance, and plant leadership to achieve operational excellence while leading a unionized maintenance workforce.
Electrical Maintenance Lead Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of electrical maintenance operations for the Plant.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through coaching, engagement, and compliance with company safety policies.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
  • Ensure electrical maintenance activities support optimal plant performance and minimize downtime.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a unionized electrical maintenance team of approximately 22 employees.
  • Develop craft training plans and foster a continuous learning environment.
  • Serve as the technical resource for plant electrical systems, including PLCs, DCS controls, high-voltage equipment, instrumentation, and power distribution.
  • Conduct risk assessments for critical maintenance tasks and ensure regulatory and environmental compliance.
  • Identify and implement reliability improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Partner with production and cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage change initiatives while maintaining high employee engagement.
  • Ensure supervisory practices align with the collective bargaining agreement and assist with grievance resolution.
  • Monitor maintenance performance metrics, safety goals, and continuous improvement initiatives
Electrical Maintenance Lead Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Maintenance Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading electrical maintenance operations in an industrial manufacturing facility.  
  • Knowledge of PLCs, DCS control systems, high-voltage electrical equipment, instrumentation, line drives, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Previous experience leading unionized hourly employees preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience or certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and employee coaching abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
