The Electronic Lab Technician serves as a senior technical expert in the design, development, and testing of advanced electronic systems. This role will lead complex research initiatives, mentor junior staff, and drive innovation in electronic design and testing methodologies.
Electronic Lab Technician Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of complex electronic systems and components, providing technical oversight across the full project lifecycle.
  • Conduct advanced research and experimentation to evaluate emerging technologies and develop innovative engineering solutions.
  • Design and execute sophisticated test procedures to assess performance, reliability, and functionality of electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex circuits and systems, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior lab technicians, supporting skill development and team growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, scientists, and product managers to define requirements and deliver results.
  • Stay current with industry trends and apply new knowledge to improve processes, tools, and methodologies.
Electronic Lab Technician Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related technical field from an accredited institution. 
  • 5+ years of experience in a laboratory or technical environment focused on electronic design and testing.
  • Strong expertise in electronic design tools (schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation software).
  • Deep understanding of analog and digital circuits, electronic components, and system design.
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electronic issues.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field. 
  • Experience with specialized testing (RF, EMC, environmental testing).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (IPC, FCC).
  • Demonstrated success in project leadership and technical program execution.
