Environmental Engineer will collaborate with the North American Sites EHS&S Manager to oversee and ensure that North American Operations are compliant with applicable environmental requirements and regulations inclusive of permit requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the implementation of Environmental programs, policies and procedures to ensure an environmentally sound secure worksites that meets or exceeds all Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards.

Environmental Engineer will collaborate with the North American Sites EHS&S Manager to oversee and ensure that North American Operations are compliant with applicable environmental requirements and regulations inclusive of permit requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the implementation of Environmental programs, policies and procedures to ensure an environmentally sound secure worksites that meets or exceeds all Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards.
Environmental Engineer Responsibilities:
- Ensure/assist in compliance to environmental specific regulations and site training requirements and all other regulations that the company must abide by while performing the following duties:
- Maintaining and implementing Environmental programs in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements, including all recordkeeping and required.
- Audit plant compliance with environmental regulations and provide training to operating personnel
- File periodic HON & MON reports as required. Track compliance with ozone depleting chemicals requirements, submit the required Chemical Weapons Declaration, and submit the annual DEA registration. Audit plant compliance with environmental regulations and provide training to operating personnel
- Assist and/or Prepare monthly reports as necessary and notify appropriate agencies of all the site requirements with respect to environmental incidents.
- Manage the site’s Environmental System
- Work with each site Coordinator to assist in each site’s waste minimization efforts.
- Lead and manage environmental engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and system specifications.
- Conduct environmental assessments, including site investigations, environmental impact assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Develop and implement remediation plans for contaminated sites, utilizing advanced engineering techniques and technologies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies on environmental compliance issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into engineering designs and construction projects.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in the field of environmental engineering, and apply best practices to projects.
- Ensure compliance with the site(s) air operating-permit by managing the permit compliance process
- Ensure compliance with RCRA.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and State spill prevention regulations.
- Maintain compliance with MACT standards.
- Provide tactical and strategic support to the HSE&S Manager for the annual safety and environmental budgets.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or in an equivalent technical field. Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental engineering within a Manufacturing Environment, with a focus on project management and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing environmental licenses, permits and reporting (Air Quality Permit – Title V, Industrial Storm Water Permit, SPCC Plan.
- Experience managing 14001 program.
- General knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency regulations
- Experience with reporting necessary environmental information to regulatory agencies.
- Experience with leading a team of employees to implement an improvement or new procedure.
- Ability to diagnose and prioritize opportunities in areas of savings, throughput improvement, and yield improvement.
