The Epic Cadence Analyst supports enterprise-wide scheduling and patient access improvement initiatives through Epic Cadence design, workflow documentation, and coordination of technical build activities. This role acts as a bridge between operations, access leadership, and IT teams to ensure that scheduling and referral workflows are efficient, standardized, and aligned with organizational goals.

The Epic Cadence Analyst supports enterprise-wide scheduling and patient access improvement initiatives through Epic Cadence design, workflow documentation, and coordination of technical build activities. This role acts as a bridge between operations, access leadership, and IT teams to ensure that scheduling and referral workflows are efficient, standardized, and aligned with organizational goals.
Epic Cadence Analyst Responsibilities:
- Partner with operational leaders, access managers, and clinical departments to gather and define requirements for Epic Cadence and referral workflows.
- Develop and maintain workflow documentation, Visio process maps, and decision tree logic for scheduling and referral routing.
- Maintain and test Epic configuration components including decision trees, visit type rules, and self-scheduling settings in collaboration with IT analysts.
- Support template management processes, including request intake, audits, and integrity reviews.
- Collaborate with IT build teams to scope, test, and validate Epic build tickets related to scheduling, access, and order workflows.
- Analyze scheduling performance metrics (e.g., fill rates, template utilization, appointment access) and provide actionable insights.
- Participate in access improvement workshops (RPIWs) to support process redesign, documentation, and testing.
- Contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT), training materials, and go-live validation activities for scheduling changes and enhancements.
Epic Cadence Analyst Qualifications:
- Epic Certification: Cadence (required)
- Experience: 2–4 years supporting Epic scheduling, access optimization, or template governance
- Proficiency in workflow mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart)
- Strong understanding of orders, referrals, scheduling tickets, and self-scheduling logic
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel (Tableau experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to collaborate effectively across clinical and IT teams
- Additional Epic certifications in Referrals, Radiant, or MyChart (preferred)
- Experience in process improvement initiatives or operational redesign workshops (preferred)
