Project Engineer Description
Provide engineering and technical support for the facilities maintenance team and execute facilities-related capital projects as well as renovation and upgrade projects that impact the growth of the site.
Responsibilities
- Drive project execution through planning, resource management, scope management, tracking, and identifying risks, issues & opportunities.
- Works with multifunctional project team members and stakeholders to define, prioritize, and execute projects and programs as per defined expectations.
- Supervise and coordinate activities with contractors and service providers for specialized tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs.
- Plan and oversee facility lay-out alterations or modifications.
- Participates in change management and order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Maintains and performs project document control and procedures (coordinating RFI/RFQs, shop drawing and submittal process, maintaining as-built drawings, etc.) (BLDG and CIVIL).
- Ensuring facility operations adhere to local regulations, building codes, and health/safety (EHS) standards.
- Implement, promote and maintain a safe work environment by implementing a culture of zero accidents, including prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area and manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum five (5) or more years of experience supporting facilities and manufacturing startup, maintenance, or engineering function.
- Minimum of two (2) or more years of experience executing infrastructure or facility improvement projects.
- Verified understanding of infrastructure projects, equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, safety, and environment (HSE), and required standards as per the field.
- Ability to apply basic engineering/problem solving principles to construction challenges.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize own work, and delegate simple tasks. - Ability to build a comprehensive schedule.
- Shown understanding in Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems with a strong ability to embrace new technology.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Effective interpersonal skills to resolve conflict, develop employees, and facilitate corrective action while fostering an environment.
