Position Overview
The Global Electrical Power Engineer is a senior technical leadership role responsible for delivering reliable, efficient, and compliant power systems across global manufacturing operations. This role leads the definition, design, and execution of electrical power systems for new applications and upgrades, ensuring alignment with project requirements, safety standards, and long-term operational goals. The position oversees projects from concept to commissioning, partnering with cross-functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to achieve successful business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of power distribution systems, from incoming high voltage to low voltage plant distribution for capacities of 5–20 MW.
- Define and analyze new power requirements, upgrading existing systems based on operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with global electrical standards, arc flash regulations, and safe maintenance procedures.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and optimization of power systems, including AC/DC systems, SCR/IGBT-based solutions, and automation integration.
- Apply project management best practices to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams, providing mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Partner with operations and technical leaders to identify business needs and implement innovative, cost-effective electrical solutions.
- Manage relationships with global vendors, leveraging partnerships to integrate emerging technologies.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, embedding safety as a core cultural value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing with demonstrated technical expertise and leadership in electrical power systems.
- Hands-on experience with industrial power and control systems, including high-voltage distribution.
- Strong understanding of PLC/HMI systems, P&IDs, and automation integration.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, global capital projects from initiation through commissioning.
- Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodology preferred.
- Strong project management skills, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resource management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, both written and verbal.
