The Help Desk Specialist will provide comprehensive desktop support to employees, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex hardware and software issues. This role requires a high level of technical competence, professionalism, and customer service. The position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation.
Help Desk Specialist Responsibilities:
- Receive incident notifications via phone, email, or web and log incidents in the service desk platform.
- Classify incidents by identifying affected users, systems, hardware, and services.
- Prioritize, escalate, and follow through on incidents until resolution.
- Maintain consistent communication with all involved parties.
- Prepare brief weekly performance reports.
- Participate in special IT projects as assigned.
- Deliver timely and effective technical support in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Set up video conferences and presentations.
- Track and maintain IT asset inventory.
Help Desk Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of related IT support experience.
- Professional certifications a plus (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft Certified Professional).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office 365 Suite, Entra ID basics, and telework/teleconference applications.
- Familiarity with computer architecture, peripheral troubleshooting, and basic networking.
- Prior help desk or IT support experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt to evolving business needs.
- May require irregular hours for system issues, critical deadlines, off-hour installations, or emergency responses.
