The HR Generalist is responsible for managing core HR operations, including administration, disciplinary actions, attendance tracking, employee communications, new hire orientation, and benefits enrollment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of HR policies and procedures.
HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including payroll coordination, benefits administration, attendance management, and employee records.
- Partner with managers to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and new hire orientation to ensure a smooth and consistent employee experience.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Promote positive employee relations and assist with conflict resolution, investigations, and employee feedback processes.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports and metrics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Support organizational initiatives related to engagement, retention, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Several years of progressive experience in human resources, including HR operations and employee relations.
- Working knowledge of payroll processes, HRIS systems, and benefits administration.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
