Indirect Procurement Buyer
Lisle, IL – Hybrid (Remote on Fridays)
The Indirect Procurement Buyer will prepare bid and RFQ packages, analyze supplier bids and prices, prepare sourcing process documentation, research industry trends and benchmark data, and understand underlying cost drivers. In addition, this role will coordinate supplier onboarding requests, route contracts for approval and work closely with business stakeholders.

In addition, this role will coordinate supplier onboarding requests, route contracts for approval and work closely with business stakeholders.
Indirect Procurement Buyer Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage bid and RFQ packages, including gathering requirements, developing sourcing documentation, and coordinating supplier responses.
- Analyze supplier bids, pricing, and proposals to identify cost savings and best-value opportunities.
- Conduct spend analysis, market research, and benchmarking to support sourcing strategies and procurement decisions.
- Evaluate underlying supplier cost drivers and market conditions to inform negotiations and sourcing recommendations.
- Develop and maintain sourcing process documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
- Coordinate supplier onboarding requests and work with internal teams to ensure timely completion of required documentation.
- Route contracts and related procurement documents through the appropriate approval processes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand procurement needs, develop sourcing strategies, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Manage supplier relationships and communicate with suppliers throughout the sourcing and contracting process.
- Present sourcing recommendations, pricing analysis, and supplier selections to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and benchmark data to support informed procurement decisions.
- Manage multiple sourcing projects, categories, and priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Indirect Procurement Buyer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or a related field.
- Experience with indirect procurement, sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, and bid analysis preferred.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand cost drivers, market conditions, and supplier pricing.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, including experience with spend analysis and developing sourcing strategies.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, suppliers, and management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present sourcing recommendations and analysis to leadership.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple categories, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP, procurement, or sourcing systems is preferred.
- Ability to analyze data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative findings.
