Industrial Technician

The Industrial Technician will support a research laboratory focused on operational stability, productivity improvements, and growth initiatives across multiple business areas, including composites and insulation. The Industrial Technician will develop expertise in glass and raw material sample preparation and testing, including operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. This role will also involve working closely with technical and cross-functional teams to support project activities, which may include glass melting and evaluation of various raw materials.

This role will also involve working closely with technical and cross-functional teams to support project activities, which may include glass melting and evaluation of various raw materials.
Industrial Technician Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following all lab and site protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, proper PPE use, and timely incident reporting.
- Support a zero injury, zero defect, and zero loss culture through active participation in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
- Prepare and test glass and raw material samples, including physical property testing across various materials.
- Operate and maintain equipment used for mixing, melting, cutting, and grinding materials.
- Perform glass and refractory testing in high-temperature environments.
- Collaborate with team members to complete lab requests and support high-priority projects.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and contribute to troubleshooting efforts to meet lab goals and objectives.
- High School Diploma or GED – Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Experience with raw material splitting and grinding
- Experience with particle size sieving
