Inventory Coordinator

As the Inventory Coordinator, you will support a diverse client base across biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech sectors. You will be responsible for managing chemical and consumable inventories, overseeing daily laboratory operations, coordinating shipping and logistics, and providing exceptional customer service. 

Inventory Coordinator Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the management of laboratory consumables and chemicals, ensuring all inventory records are accurate and up-to-date. 

  • Track stock utilization, perform cycle counts, and conduct physical inventories to identify slow-moving or expired items. 

  • Maintain organization and safety standards in chemical stockrooms and flammable storage areas, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. 

  • Log incoming chemical shipments meticulously, classify them correctly in our inventory systems, and ensure proper documentation. 

  • Manage procurement processes, including resolving backorders, processing quotes, and troubleshooting invoicing issues. 

  • Coordinate shipping activities for hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. 

  • Support chemical waste disposal and shipment logistics by working with approved vendors and adhering to safety standards. 

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal teams and external clients, fostering collaborative relationships. 

  • Utilize platforms such as SAP, Citrix, ChemSW, and client-specific systems to manage inventory data efficiently. 

  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supporting process improvements and change management initiatives. 

  • Manage inbound deliveries and oversee inbound and outbound inventory requests, ensuring accurate and timely processing. 

Inventory Coordinator Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or related operations. 

  • Procurement experience and order tracking. 

  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping documentation. 

  • Strong customer service and communication skills. 

  • Proficiency in inventory and procurement systems such as SAP, Citrix, VWR+, ChemSW, and other customer-specific platforms. 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Must meet safety, performance, and quality standards. 

  • Flu vaccination is required. 

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. 

  • Basic understanding of change management and SOP documentation. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Microsoft Teams experience preferred. 

  • Experience in regulated or infection control environments preferred.
