The IT Systems Analyst evaluates existing computer systems and business processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps implement technology solutions that increase efficiency and support organizational goals. This role works closely with stakeholders, end users, and IT teams to analyze requirements, recommend upgrades, and support system performance.
IT Systems Analyst Responsibilities:
- Analyze current computer systems, workflows, and business requirements to identify improvements.
- Gather and document system needs from users, management, and cross-functional teams.
- Recommend system upgrades, new technologies, and process changes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Assist with implementation, testing, integration, and maintenance of system enhancements.
- Troubleshoot system issues, support users, and help resolve technical problems.
- Document specifications, procedures, test plans, and system changes.
- Monitor system performance and identify risks, errors, or opportunities for optimization.
- Train users on new systems or updated processes as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field.
- Experience analyzing, supporting, or improving business and computer systems.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with system documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
- Experience with SQL, ERP systems, cloud platforms, or enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC), integration, and change management.
- Experience working with stakeholders to support business process improvements.
- Project coordination or implementation experience.
