The Lab Chemist is responsible for performing analytical analysis of customer samples and production batch samples using various testing procedures. The role involves collecting data, determining composition, and making recommendations. This position is designed to provide development opportunities for chemists with future career paths in R&D, Sales, or Technical (Field) Support.
Lab Chemist Responsibilities
• Conduct analytical testing of plating solutions.
• Perform quality control testing on production batches and resale products.
• Perform routine hull cell testing.
• Collaborate with Sales and Technical teams on special projects, including customer conversions and other needs.
• Provide analytical data in response to customer requests.
• Operate analytical equipment such as X-Ray, FTIR, IC, ICP-OES, HPLC, and Torque Tension.
• Perform daily salt spray chamber collections and interpret results.
• Enter analysis data into the system and communicate findings to customers and prospects.
• Perform calibration testing, reporting, and routine maintenance on salt spray equipment per ISO specifications.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and surfaces.
• Answer phones and perform other duties as assigned.
Lab Chemist Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (required); Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience or internship preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Adobe (or similar).
