Laboratory Technician – Microbiology Focus

$20.96–$24.37/hour + $0.65/hour 2nd Shift Differential

We’re hiring a Laboratory Technician with a focus on microbiological testing to support quality operations in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. This is a great long-term opportunity for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in a science field (Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) who’s looking to build hands-on experience with industry-standard lab techniques and tools.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine microbial testing on raw materials, water samples, and finished goods
• Conduct microbial plating, incubation, and colony counting
• Assist with environmental monitoring and surface sampling across production areas
• Accurately document and communicate test results in a timely manner
• Follow aseptic techniques and adhere to safety and contamination control procedures
• Maintain lab records, systems, and inventory according to SOPs
• Support ongoing validation efforts and assist with data collection for audits
• Collaborate with QA and production teams as needed to investigate and resolve issues
• Utilize LIMS and internal systems for sample tracking and data entry

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related science
• OR Associate’s degree with 1–2 years of hands-on microbiology lab experience
• Familiarity with microbial plating, pipetting, and aseptic technique
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
• Comfortable working independently in a GMP-regulated environment
• Willingness to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
• Prior experience in a lab or FDA/GMP-regulated setting is a plus, but not required
