The Laboratory Technician will perform routine analytical and laboratory testing to support the food safety, quality, and operational teams. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and hardworking individual who can follow established procedures, ensure instrumentation accuracy, and communicate results clearly. Under intermediate supervision, you will help maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards while contributing to a strong food safety and quality culture.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine analysis of products, raw materials, in-process, and final products, documenting results accurately in databases.
Monitor and check instrumentation performance, conducting calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and simple repairs as needed.
Maintain up-to-date customer specification books and relevant quality documentation.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests, supporting more complex trials under supervision.
Interpret test results, communicate findings to internal stakeholders, and escalate issues as appropriate.
Assist in developing and supporting food/feed safety, quality, and regulatory programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company procedural requirements for laboratory testing.
Read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
Prepare routine reports, correspondence, and maintain accurate records.
Handle clerical, administrative, technical, or customer support tasks related to laboratory operations.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred; relevant laboratory or production experience considered.
Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and instrumentation use.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established protocols and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and write clear reports.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work independently with intermediate supervision and in a team environment.
Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment calibration and minor repairs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as required.
