The Laboratory Technician role supports the development and registration of innovative agricultural products through hands-on laboratory, greenhouse, and field-based research. This position plays a key part in generating data used to evaluate new products and improve existing solutions.
Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, execution, and reporting of Fate & Metabolism studies to support product development and regulatory registration.
- Support laboratory testing and data collection according to study protocols and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Train and mentor technicians, contractors, and student assistants in laboratory procedures and data collection methods.
- Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory instruments including GC, HPLC, LC-MS, balances, centrifuges, and liquid scintillation counters.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements, including EPA GLP standards and NRC protocols for handling radioactive materials.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of experiments and activities.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams across Regulatory Science and the Fate & Metabolism group.
Laboratory Technician Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of chemistry and laboratory techniques; prior experience in a GLP-compliant environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and data systems.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Commitment to lab safety and regulatory compliance.
