Build technical equipment/machines for our Environmental Test Chamber product line. Includes building electrical panels to specification: installing electrical components and point-to-point wiring based on electrical diagrams.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze orders and prints for accuracy and applicability.
- Fit and assemble components according to prints, manuals, and machine construction knowledge, using hand and power tools.
- Install wiring and electrical components to meet specifications.
- Lay out hole locations, then drill and tap holes on parts for assembly.
- Install piping, fixtures, and attachments for air and water service to machines.
- Verify alignment, tolerance, and clearance of moving parts.
- Test machines to confirm proper functioning, capabilities, and compliance with customer and test specifications.
- Maintain inventory levels of component parts.
- Provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
- Set up and operate machinery (lathes, milling machines, drill presses, cut-off saws, etc.) to shape and fabricate parts to specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Document time and materials for parts and equipment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Seek continuous improvement in operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline processes, and work collaboratively to deliver high-quality customer service.
- Strong mechanical background in machine building.
- Ability to troubleshoot: determine what is causing an operating error and decide what to do about it.
- Ability to read, visualize, and follow drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to learn job-related material through oral instruction and observation.
- Ability to accurately read measuring instruments (i.e., calipers, tape measures, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with ASTM specs is a plus.
- Strong work ethic – ability to report on time for all scheduled workdays/shifts
- Some college or advanced degree preferred. (An associate's Degree in a technical field would be ideal.)
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.
