Responsibilities:
- Perform duties as necessary to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems
- Verifies readiness of machinery and equipment
- Notifies and discusses machine operation variations with supervisor or appropriate personnel to diagnose problem for repair
- Disassembles equipment such as conveyors, motors, air cylinders, and hand tools to install new or repaired parts
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment such as air make-up units and air conditioning units
- Operates equipment and machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, milling machine, forklift, manlift, and other powered vehicles required for maintenance applications
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and various wooden and/or metal items
- Troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic process systems
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area at all times
- Complies with Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health, and Material Management System requirements
- Understand responsibility for health and safety
- Cooperate with outside inspectors and auditors (IATF/ISO, OSHA, etc.) when necessary
- Wear appropriate PPE
- Follow all shop and safety rules
- Report unsafe conditions immediately
- Report injuries, accident, illnesses, near misses, and property damage immediately
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
- A two (2) year degree from two-year college or technical school, or five to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds
