Medical Assistant 2 Responsibilities
- Serve as first point of contact for patients
- Perform back-office clinical duties including vital signs, injections, diagnostic testing, specimen collection, and phlebotomy
- Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize equipment and exam rooms
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to support patient care
- Complete moderately complex administrative and operational tasks
- Prioritize assignments while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Follow department policies with sound judgment and minimal supervision
Medical Assistants 2 Requirements
- 1–3 years of back-office Medical Assistant experience in direct patient care
- Active State Medical Assistant certification (RMA or CMA)
- Current CPR certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare setting
- Basic computer proficiency, including MS Outlook
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Must complete TB screening (patient-facing role)
Medical Assistant 2 Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Hands-on phlebotomy experience
- Experience with EMR systems and HEDIS
- Active certification from AAMA, NHA, AMT, ARMA, or NAHP
- AART Rad Tech license
