Medical Assistant II
Kissimmee, FL
As a Medical Assistant II, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, providing both clinical and administrative support while working alongside physicians and nurses to ensure an outstanding patient experience. You'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Review symptoms, medical history, and update Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer injections and perform diagnostic testing as permitted by certification.
- Collect blood and other laboratory specimens.
- Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and medical records.
- Schedule appointments and assist with administrative duties.
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Medical Assistant Requirements:
- 1–3 years of back-office Medical Assistant experience in direct patient care.
- Active CMA or RMA certification (or applicable state licensure).
- Current CPR Certification.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
- Hands-on phlebotomy and specimen collection experience preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
- Willingness to complete required Tuberculosis (TB) screening.
Medical Assistant Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Experience with HEDIS measures.
- Active Medical Assistant certification through organizations such as AAMA, NHA, ARMA, NAHP, or AMT.
- ARRT Radiologic Technologist (RT) license is a plus.
