MRI Technologist Job Description
As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages and conditions, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and informed throughout the entire process. MRI Technologist Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT registered [R.T.(R)(ARRT), R.T.(S)(ARRT), R.T.(T)(ARRT), or R.T.(N)(ARRT)] or CNMT through NMTCB
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA
- Understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology
- Preferred: One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or in other imaging modalities
- Review patient chart, data, and screening to ensure MRI safety
- Perform MRI procedures and daily QA per protocol
- Educate and reassure patients during procedures
- Monitor and report equipment issues, ensuring maximum uptime
- Mentor new hires and radiology students
- Complete billing processes via RIS
- Attend professional development and in-service training
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily
- Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75lbs
