 Process Technician

The Process Technician will play a key role in supporting product development and process improvement initiatives within the residential roofing business. This hands-on role focuses on operating prototype equipment, conducting testing, and collaborating with engineers and scientists to deliver high-quality technical solutions. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
 
Process Technician Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety in all aspects of work
• Work safely in both laboratory and manufacturing environments, identifying and correcting hazards
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and team members to operate the shingle pilot line and achieve project goals
• Prepare equipment and raw materials; lift and carry up to 30 lbs as needed
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues quickly to minimize downtime
• Assist with the assembly, modification, and maintenance of process and equipment prototypes
• Run prototype testing and evaluation in collaboration with engineers
• Record observations, input test results into LIMS data systems, and maintain accurate documentation
• Perform hazard assessments for non-routine tasks
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure readiness for ongoing and future testing
  
Process Technician Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing or quality control
• Mechanically inclined with experience using hand tools (sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers)
• Strong troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
• Proficient with computers; working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Safety-focused mindset and commitment to safe work practices
• Adaptable, resilient, and capable of working in hot, noisy, or physically demanding environments
• Previous forklift experience or willingness to be trained and certified (preferred)
